    December week 5 challenge

This weeks Challenge has been brought to you by the
    Scrappycats team.

    SCRAPPY CAT'S CHALLENGE

As one year draws to a close and a new one begins, how about a bit of fun? Try the quiz below with questions about your own scrapbooking style and then, when you have established which group you fall into, we challenge you to try something different from your normal safety zone.

    1. On a single layout do you generally scrap …
    a) 4 or more photos
    b) 2-3 photos
    c) 1 photo with lots of journaling
    d) 1 photo with not much journaling

    2. Which colour of papers and card stocks do you buy most often?
    a) blues & greens
    b) reds, pinks and purples
    c) neutrals like black, white & brown
    d) yellows, oranges, metallics

    3. Which of these features would you most often use on your layouts?
    a) simple designs with matching patterned paper and card stock
    b) lots of blooms and brads
    c) rub-ons or stickers
    d) at least 3 patterned papers and a mix of embellishments

    4. When you scrap do you get inspiration from:
    a) all my own work and ideas
    b) gallery/magazines
    c) sketches
    d) all of the above

    5. How many of these techniques have you used on a LO in the last 2 months?
stamping, punching, embossing, doodling, hand stitching, using paint on your LO, using hand made embellishments.
    a) None of them
    b) 1-2
    c) 3-4
    d) at least 5 of them!

    6. Which answer most closely fits your scrapping subject?
    a) I only scrap people
    b) I mostly scrap people and animals
    c) I tend to scrap day-to-day life
    d) I scrap anything and everything.

Make a note of your answers and see which category you fall into and them complete the challenge for this category…..

    MOSTLY “A”s
If you are mostly “A”s then you have possibly been “playing safe” with your scrapbooking or may be new to scrapbooking. Your challenge is to try something new and daring. Your challenge is to:
    - Scraplift a LO from the UKS Gallery featuring 1 LARGE photograph (7”x5” or over)
Don’t forget to add a credit or even a link or for the LO you have scraplifted 10 pts
    - Your subject should be anything apart from people 10 pts
    - Pick your cardstock before you pick your photo – opt for a bright colour 5 pts
    - Use at least one of the techniques listed in Q5 5 pts

    MOSTLY “B”s

You have probably been scrapping a while and enjoy trying new products and techniques. We expect your stash is mounting up! Your challenge is to:
    - Use the oldest paper or card stash you have (the piece you have had kicking around for ever!) 10 pts
    - Use something brand new to bring it up to date 10 pts
    - Use something which is not from a stash shop (could be from a hardware store or reclaimed/recycled) 5 pts
    - Use a technique or scrapping tool you haven’t used for AGES 5 pts

    MOSTLY “C”s

If you scored mainly “C”s we’d like to shake things up a bit.
    - Use 3 or more pictures on your layout 10 pts
    - Use one of the following colour combinations:
hot pink and lime green OR orange and black OR yellow and blue 10 pts
    - Your layout should be about yourself 5 pts
    - Include at least 4 different types of embellishments 5 pts

    MOSTLY "D"s

We suspect that you are an experienced scrapper who looks for inspiration from all aspects of life, you have probably tried all the latest techniques and your stash is packed with all the latest products. Your challenge is to go back to basics:
    - Make a layout using just plain card stocks and just one patterned paper 10 pts
    - The theme of your layout should be PEACE 10 pts
    - To include a lot of journaling on your layout 5 pts
    - Make yourself use a colour scheme that you don’t normally use 5 pts

I DON’T FALL INTO ANY PARTICULAR CATEGORY
    Your challenge is to:
    - Make a layout using neutral colours 10 pts
    - Scrap picture(s) which represents day to day life rather than a special occasion 10 pts
    - Incorporate stickers, rub-ons or cut an embellishment from patterned paper or card 5 pts
    - Use at least one of the techniques featured in question 5 5 pts

We won’t know, of course, how you answer the quiz; you could cheat and pick the answers that give you the challenge you most like the look of! But our aim is to make you think about your normal style and question if you could try something new and different, but most of all HAVE FUN.

Here are some layouts from our team
    Weetabix(mostly C )
    eClaire (mostly B )
    Mary Buttons (option E )
    Happysnapper (mostly B )
    Zahra (mostly A )
    Tigerlady (mostly D )
    eClaire (mostly D )
    Mary Buttons (mostly A )
    eClaire (mostly A)
    Tigerlady (Mostly C)
