    New Current release V4.3.263

This is the latest full version to replace the last open beta. Well worth having as it fixes quite a few of the glitches especially in the Send page- https://www.silhouetteamerica.com/software

    Thanks Shirley.

Does it fix the 'scanner not found' problem?

No it doesn't Neries. We have been told in the Cosed Beta Group that the issue with the scanner is that the 64-bit version of Silhouette Studio doesn't play nicely with scanners that use a 32-bit drivers. They are researching how other programs handle that scenario in order to do something similar so we just have to wait and hope !!

Thanks Shirley. So it's really Canon's fault with their drivers. When I updated mine Canon's web site recognised that I was using Windows 10 and even Canon support sent me a link to update the most recent they are still only 32bit drivers then not 64bit.

Shirley I have sent an email to Canon Europe support asking why no 64bit drivers for my printer/scanner. The drivers I have were new in June 2019. It might help if other Canon owners with the same problem contact Canon.

I’m a bit confused about the Canon drivers as I have the latest too and I checked the driver download page but it only says suitable for Windows 32bit and 64 bit operating systems. Will be interested to see if you get a response but it is affecting other brands too like Epson apparently. I use Photoshop and I’m pretty sure that is 64 bit program and my scanner works with that OK so that is something SA are looking in to.

I have tried looking on my computer to find the drivers and see if they are 32bit or 65bit but can't find them even in devices. I knew my way around the older Windows from 3.1 to Vista, but finding my way around Windows 10 is really hard and I am still learning and struggling.

I don’t know how to find out either Neries but I would be surprised if they weren’t 64 bit as most PCs must be these days so why it’s a problem with Studio I don’t know but at least we know they are trying to find a fix.

Shirley at last I have received a reply from Canon. So hope they come up with a solution.

Your enquiry has been forwarded to our product specialist team, who will investigate further. Please be aware that you will be contacted regarding this within 2 working days.

Shirley I had an email and a phone call from Canon UK this afternoon. It was a bit of a bad line so I did not hear all of what he said. He suggested a USB connection might work instead of Wi Fi as it has for some Adobe software like Coral Draw. Told me to use the previous version of Studio until Silhouette find a solution. Not tried a USB cable yet as the back of my printer is not that easy to access. It's on a stand above my Cameo further back so the cutting mat goes underneath. As he did not answer my email question was there a Canon printer/scanner with 64-bit drivers I presume there is not.

    From his email

Canon PIXMA 5750 scanner drivers are TWAIN complaint 32-bit drivers, these drivers are compatible to use with native and TWAIN applications

Thanks Neries, I have my printer connected via WiFi and usb but it still doesn’t work with Studio although it does with Adobe Photoshop. The email seems to indicate that there isn’t a 64 bit driver which surprises me a bit. Will pass the information on to the Beta group for information if that is OK with you.

Yes Shirley OK with me to pass it on.

You would think the software developers from Graphtec would be communicating with their counterparts in Canon, Epson etc.
