Lol. Susie what are you like?
I’m sitting here waiting for DH to come home To get a call saying he has been called to a 40 pump grassland fire in West London so he will be extremely tired when he gets in. He was almost at the end of a 14 hour shift when the call came in and we have no idea what time he will be home.
Here’s a little card I made a few days ago to keep in supplies just in case of emergencies it’s not a specific celebration but it’s always useful to have a card like that in hand isn’t it?
Oh , I hope your DH gets home soon Elaine
I know what it’s like for them to be called out when they
have done a full shift. DH was the same. Not as a fireman of course,
but we would get a call at all hours and off he would go.
All you can do is wait. Hugs to you
Ellie
These grassland fires are terrible, was this deliberately set Elaine or just the heat? Hope DH is home soon. Such a pretty card and even I recognise those papers. I love the colour of those pearls.
I was meant to be making another card this evening and cleared everything and had a nice tidy desk and then got a phone call and was on the phone for 95 minutes. It's good to chat. Off to eat now.
Not sure if the grassland fires were set or natural disasters Susie.
Thanks for your kind comments. I made five of them at my Crafternoon last Tuesday. All very basic but a variation in a theme. One of the ladies that was there immediately bought one!
Here is another
Ok you enablers, I feel the need to use gold on DD’s wedding stationery.
Can you recommend a good gold ink pad for stamping and a nice gold paper for mounting so don’t want it too thick .
I have lots of ideas whirling around in my head but I need to get some stuff out and have a play
What sort of gold paper are you thinking of and how are you going to use it Alison? I had this problem when I was looking for gold mirri card despite the fact that only a tiny bit was going to be seen round the edges. Are you thinking of gold mirri, brushed gold, but most of all where is it going to be used. I used to buy a brushed gold and brushed silver wrapping paper for cards from Paperchase but they don't sell it anymore. However, I found rolls of wrapping paper very similar except not quite as good quality from Amazon. I still use it on cards because for the most part it is covered and I've even die cut with it. So we need to know details.
You can get gold mirri that is a lighter weight and as for the ink pad I would perhaps try Stazon or one of the good brands. I don't use gold very much except for heat embossing. Now if you are heat embossing I'd use WOW metallic gold superfine embossing powder. Google the youtube video's for the inks. I just watched a St videoazon metallic gold which was one you filled yourself but the result was lovely. I'm sure one of the other 'enablers' will help with the ink.
Let me know about the card though because I might have some samples for you to look at. I spent ages ringing round trying to find samples of card and the best mirri came from a company whose name I can't remember right now, but bless him, he sent me loads of samples and I think he supplied Hunkydory at the time.
The gold linen I have sent out in the past in die cuts seems to have been discontinued now. That was a sort of brushed gold in a mid-weight card. Also, what are you stamping on to?
