Does the cameo software work on a mac
i still have no software that is native to my apple mac for my cutting machine and i hat using the laptop that it is installed on.
so i am wondering if i should get rid of my machine and buy something that is Mac friendly.
don't know anything about the cameo really does it cut 12x12?
will it cut fabric, card etc?
what are peoples view and thoughts please

YES you can get the mac version of the Silhouette Studio software. It works perfectly wit the machine. I use a Mac with my cameo. The Cameo cuts 12 x 12 paper/cardstock etc. I believe it does cut material that has a stiffening as a backing. It cuts paper, cardstock and cereal packet cardboard.

I think MTC is only guaranteed Mac compatible for use with the Zing. With other machines that the software can run, people have varying degrees of success running it on a Mac using (?) parallels. [Sorry - not a Mac user so I have no idea about windows emulator names but parallels seems to ring a bell]

yes i don't want to to partition i want a native mac application.
is the cameo native or do you have to partition with that too.
would i have to have the cameo attached to my mac to cut as well as they would be in different rooms

You could consider a Zing if you want Bluetooth connectivity for use in a separate room - there is a Zing Air in the pipeline (out soon in the US)

It's a cutter from a brand other than graphtec, so I'll let you google. :-)

There is a Mac version of Studio. The Pazzel's inspiration is on the list of machines that work with make the cut here

hi thanks yes i saw that but all the blurb seems to suggest windows based software, thats what made me wonder if you have to partition which i don't want to do.
also not sure about buying third party software think i would rather have a machine and software that are made for each other and can work on a mac.

But on the other hand, a 3rd party software could be used with more than one machine (I use it, though running on windows, to cut from 3 differently branded machines.) Much as I like Silhouette Studio, it is not my go-to software when designing from scratch because I like to work with the layers you have available in MTC.
