It's my daughter's 40th on the 12th Feb and we having a 'posh do'. I have made these place cards for the occasion using an electronic cutter and the Grand Calibur wiht Spellbinder dies.

I made this inspired by a link to a "doily" site on Hysteri-cal's 'Techniques ' forum last week.
If anyone is interested then the instructions are on that forum. Hope you like
It's a light thing, I'm slightly married to my job and so I'm rarely at home with daylight to photograph anything, I've found that by not sharing I was becoming much more passive though, often not even making anything... so I've decided to snap the best photo I can first thing in a morning before I go to work... and post (if I can) at coffee time or lunchtime.
I'm going to try and catch up on 2013s challenges and finish my december daily so I have plenty to keep me busy
I know what you mean, I made a card in a real rush on Sunday just to try and photograph it in daylight and I'm not best pleased with the card now. I think I am going to have to remake it and just bite the under-the-craft-lamp-photo bullet!
The card was supposed to be a one layer card, but I'm not much of a stamper so I used the inspiration from my class in a slightly different way. I'm certainly making the most of the washi I bought a few days ago...
Made this for my daughter whose birthday is 12th February. I used and electronic cutter for the silver background and the number and Marrianne dies for the squares.

Out of interest Fi, what brand of card blank is that? It's very nice and a bit different from my Kraft Papermania cards which are darker and not "stripey".
Anyway, here is a recent make from the weekend - very clean and simple and alas was losing daylight when I snapped the pic:
