As I'm late to this week's challenge can I use a card I made a while ago? The bird is from a stamp free with a magazine a few months ago and the design is from a Rosemary Merry retreat I went on earlier this year.
I wouldn't worry Ruth and that is a lovely card. Better a card than no card at all like me. I've loved the different birds; your Robin is lovely Phil and I thought the stencilled owl was great Barb.
When you upload your photo into the gallery, you click underneath where it says "Linked image" and copy and paste it into your post. That gives you a larger picture.
Just been checking out the prompts and I have to say Nat, the card you made is probably my favourite of all your cards (well, those I've seen anyway). It is absolutely gorgeous and sooooo Christmassy - I'm beginning to wish it would snow now. So blown away by the card, I've forgotten what the prompts are now.
Just trying to upload a photo, ignore me if it doesn't work.
It didn't! Tried uploading photo to gallery (first time) it said filezise to big. I downloaded Picsizer but how does it reduce the file size? Just by reducing the size of the picture? When I try to save as JPG it keeps saying bmp, totally confused. Think I'll stick to Thumbnails!
Hi Ruth - easiest way to do it is to upload your card to the normal UKS gallery first. Then open up the gallery page so you have the large picture on the screen, underneath that you have 4 options - linked image, linked thumbnail etc. The one you want is at the bottom called Direct Link. Highlight the full link and copy it. **Note - if you are using Google Chrome as your browser then just right click on picture and choose Copy Image URL - much easier!**
Then in the quick reply box click on the Insert Image button (looks like a picture of some mountains!), remove the http that is already there and paste your direct link. Press OK and hey presto your picture will appear when you post your reply!
Hope this helps but shout if it doesn't and I will try and explain better!
Trish xx
PS. Meant to say, the way Phil gets her picture in the thread is because her daughter aka me! does it for her ha ha sorry mum!
www.piknik.com - click the button that says get started (you don't need to register)
then on the next page "upload a photo" - it should automatically open the My Pictures file on your PC. Pick the picture you want and click open.
your photo should then upload and open up on the screen
click "resize" from the menu on the left, and then a box drops down with the photo dimensions in. Make the biggest number into 600 and make sure "keep proportions" is ticked.
then click "apply"
go to the tab that says "save and share" it should say "save this file to my computer"
so long as the file size (at the bottom) is less than 250kb you will be fine to upload to gallery.
then click "save photo" and save where you want it on your PC.
you should then be able to upload to UKS gallery!
Let me know if this works, excuse the lack of capitals am doing about 3 things at once here!
