foiling
Hello,
Does anyone know if there's such a thing as a stamp pad, like an ink pad, that has a glue which can then be used to put foiling onto a card?
I know that you can use quickie glue pens, but I'm wondering if there's such a thing as a whole pad, so I can use some of my rubber stamps to foil with.
Any help gratefully received!

Team Eric
Have you tried using an Embossing pad?

Senior moments? I thought they came in MONTHS!!!
This rings bells .. but as a digi scrapper I haven't got one!! Try asking on the Sponsers forum .. they may well know if they are available -- and even have one!!

Hiya, I would try stamp n bond. You use it like an embossing powder. Stamp your image in a pigment ink (colour or clear). Cover with stamp n bond, shake off the excess and heat. It will then turn to a sticky glue which you can flock or foil. Dries in about 24 - 48 hours.

Martha Stewart does a glue-pad and Hampton Art do one that looks identical but is a lot cheaper.
I have the Hampton Art one and some foil, I'll have a go later and then report back....

I've had a go and it's a bit hit and miss.
The first attempt was good (not totally perfect but near enough) but second and third attempts were poor.
I had foil where it shouldn't have been and where it should have been it wasn't!
It's not like stamping with ink - because it's sticky there is a bit of resistance when trying to lift the stamp from the card, the second attempt left tiny bits of card stuck to my stamp.
I tried a fine detail stamp and also a solid block type image to see if it made a difference but had pretty much similar results.
Maybe there is a knack to it (and I'm lacking the knack!)

I have a glue pad called just 'The Essential Glue Pad' made by Tsukineko. It looks just like Stazon pad and I have used it with good results with foil.

Re the sticky stamp issue. That is why I prefer stamp n bond. Less gluey mess!

Thanks
Thank you everyone for your suggestions, apologies for not replying, but I've had problems finding enough time to get online since I posted my question!
I'll have a read of them all, see what I can easily get hold of, and take it from there.
Thanks again, it's most appreciated!:

I've got both the essential glue pad, one called stamp & stick & not been very satisfied with the results. I saw the hot foil master demonstrated at the NEC & was so tempted!! It uses heat activated foil & a tool rather like a soldering iron. Bought some of the foil but not sure if £48 for the kit is justified!!
You print out text on a sheet of tracing ( or very thin) paper, put the foil underneath & trace over the text. Results were superb!!

Well!! I have succumbed to temptation & bought a foiling pen-- but not the £48 one. Found another make which looks to be identical for less than half the price. Will report back when I've tried it out.

Well it's here & I would say it's identical to the one at the NEC except there's no DVD. instruction sheet & print out of lettering.
However having watched a demo & stamping/printing my own words I'd say who needs to spend an extra £29 for those things???
It's so easy to use & I'm very pleased.

Glad you are happy with it, I had a pen one years ago and found it dreadful.
