Gesso/Golden Matte Medium?
Hello again,
I was wondering what the difference is between white Gesso and Golden Matte Medium? Im getting confused by all the different ones available? Its for art journaling.
I have ordered some Mod Podge in Matte is this the same as any of the above?
Thanks

Mod Podge is a glue that dries clear. You can also use it watered down to seal a canvas or the covers of a hand made mini book or something similar. It just helps to protect the paper covers IYKWIM.
I've not used the Golden Matte Medium but you can use it i the same way as Gesso but it's more fluidy. It's mainly used with acrylic paints though.
Gesso is like a primer for the base of your project. ie. on chipboard it will stop the acrylic paint soaking in.

Matte medium is thick glue, great for glueing all sorts even things like buttons. As Gwyneth said, gesso is a primer but you can also used gesso to create textured base for art journalling by slapping it on thick and impressing objects into it to create the texture.

You can use Mod Podge instead of gel medium. Gesso is a different thing, so if you are working on something that says to use gesso, then you need that, but if it asks for gel medium you can use mod podge.
