okay I know it's probably been asked 100 times, but bigshot vs cuttlebug?
I've never had a die cutter and think I'd use it quite a bit. I'm on a bit of a budget and have seen both of these new for around £60 inc postage. I don't have a lot of room, although I'm only going to get the one machine so I want it to be a good purchase. The definitive guide to each please?

If space is limited then go for the cuttlebug as it doesn't take much room when storing. HOWEVER, check that it takes all the dies you want or are likely to want to use in it. IIRC some of the bigger sizzix dies don't fit in the cuttlebug- but don't quote me on it

I've got a cuttlebug and I love it, it does take most of the over dies, sizzix, quickutz, nesties, brass embossing templates (you need a rubber mate for these) but I too am not so sure about the new extra large dies from sizzix.

The Cuttlebug, Big shot/kick and Wizard takes ALL makes & sizes of retail dies, embossing folders and brass stencils out there. Including the Bigz & Bigz XL
The wizard is the most robust, followed by the Bigshot/kick and then the Cuttlebug.
The Cuttlebug takes up the least space and has a slightly narrower mouth. This means that it will not take an A6 card opened out where as the other 2 will.
The Cuttlebug and Bigshot/kick use a winding mechanism, the Wizard a rachet system.
I do a "sandwich" [layers] booklet for each of the above machines. It tells you how to use the dies etc in each machine. Those that want a copy pm me your EMAIL address & tell me which machine it is for.

Sizzix are releasing some 12x12 dies and the machine to fit them soon but not over here yet as such.

I have a big shot and to be honest I should have bought this in the beginning as it takes all sizes of dies as the cuttlebug can not go up to the lager dies. Yes it is a pain getting it out all the time but it is worth it for the range of dies I can use.
I have never tried cuttlebug but I use their dies in my big shot without any problem, also the embossing boards etc.

have never used a cuttlebug but I LOVE my bigshot! It is nice and sturdy as I can be a bit heavy handed!! Like the way the cuttlebug folds up though but prefer the robustness of the bigshot

Love, love, love my Bigshot
I have used a Cuttlebug at a crop, but didn't think it was nearly as robust as the BigShot. Just my opinion

Another one here who can't see by my BigShot
The Cuttlebug is smaller but feels so 'flimsy' by comparison.

I have a Cuttlebug but wish I'd actually gone for the Bigshot instead. I would like the extra size that the Bigshot supplies if that's any help in helping you make a decision?

I'm also a BigShot fan. I've used a variety of different manufacturer's dies in the machine with no problems, and am yet to have any trouble with it.

Needs some dedicated scrapping time!!!
Big shot for me too! I wouldn't be without it.

my littlest sweetie
I have a "bug" which I love although having said that I've never tried a big shot!
