I have a card I made for my mum's birthday this weekend on my blog here. I tried to post a thumbnail in the thread here but it was taking forever to upload and I didn't have the patience.
... and Marlene - what can I say. You keep showing me how far from perfect I am. Your work is stunning - every time and SUCH a great inspiration to keep working. That fairy is an absolute cutie.
Thanks for the nice remarks about the tape - it's from our equivalent to a poundshop here in DK - I normally use it for baby announcements and kiddies bdays but quite liked this idea.
Again for a young ladies Confirmation. She likes purple and loves to dancing, theater and singing. Hence the decorations. The number on the ticket stub is the date of her party.
I have been looking at your cards, ladies and they are beautiful! I love the fairy one, but then I am partial to fairies! Also love any cards with hats, shoes and purses!!
Thank you thread bare. They seem very bare compared to some that iv'e seen. Maybe its down to personal taste, but whenever i try to do them a little busy, it just doesn't look right to me so i take stuff back off.
They look brilliant i love any sort of cards. But as a newbie card maker i know what you mean about adding and taking off. At the end of the day it's totally down to personal taste. I do both sorts now but at the beguinning i had no idea what do do with background paper. I think you have got the balance perfect on your cards sometimes less is more.
I haven't got as far as using pattern backing paper. I like to recycle old cards and try to come up with something new by cutting out what i can and re arranging them on another piece of card. Saves just throwing bought cards in the bin. Besides, people tend to save personalised ones. That way, they are good for the environment too.
Well back again! Iv'e just got to get back to work!!
This is a card i made out of an old cd i had, a couple of peel offs, and some of Mr Dufex decoupage flowers. I left it blank, so it could be sent for any occasion.
