I've just coloured in my very first magnolia. I bought some stamped images on the auction site to see if I would get on with them before I committed myself to buying stamps. I've never made a card before and have only just started using stamps. I have never used watercolour pencils before either( lots of firsts today) and have used a set of 24 ergosoft Staedtler aquarell pencils that I found in DDs old bedroom.
I would really appreciate any honest comments on my effort, especially about technique eg Have I been too heavy handed? Is she holding the strings of her bonnet, or is it a skipping rope that needs to be drawn in? How do you get a decent skin tone?
There is a sky and grass background but it doesn't seemed to have scanned very well.
Well I think it's lovely and wouldn't have known it was your first time!! Everyone has their own styles regarding colouring in the stamps and you will change the way you do it as you progress - that's normal, but well done for all the firsts.
Kirsty,
Copics are Copic markers, very expensive colouring pens they're alcohol based so they blend very well and you can layer the ink without it making the paper soggy. Primarily they're used for people that do the Manga cartoons.
great cards everyone. sorry i haven't left comments at any blogs but i have had a bad few days with ds poorly & just not got the time to stay here long atm.

Some gorgeous cards popping up here this weekend!!!!
I am this weeks Guest Designer on the Tilda & Co Sunday blog challenge - I don't actually have a blog - so although they are on the Tilda & Co blog, I had nowhere personally to display them - so I have popped them in the card gallery here and here
Lovely cards Tracey and well done on being Guest Designer!
I'm just going to go and have a look at the blog.
