Anything around Wakefield?

Looks like I might be spending a couple of days in Wakefield while DH is there on business. Any scrapbook shops or other interesting things? We'll be there 3-7 Sept. so if there are any crops, I would like that too. I may have a car so anything within short driving distance is do-able.

There is a haberdashery / craft stall in the indoor market in the centre of Wakefield. More card-making than scrapbooking but does have some nice bits and pieces and general haberdashery.

There is a Wilkinsons and Poundland in the centre as well - have a look in the big store bargains section of the forums.

Don't know of anywhere else I'm afraid in Wakefield itself.

I am having a crop on wed the 6th. It starts at 19h30ish till 10h30ish. It costs a fiver and you can choose from over 200 types of paper and I have the basic equipment like cutters, eyelet setters, mats, pens, chalks etc

Thanks but we'll be leaving by then. And as it turns out, we're staying in Leeds -- or rather just in the east outskirts. We're arriving Saturday evening and leaving Wednesday morning, so now I have to see what's in Leeds........ !

There's a largish craft place in Pontefract, which is not far away - can't remember the name but they advertise a lot in the craft mags

There's a lovely craft shop down Meanwood Road in Leeds called Embsay Crafts, it will be moving soon (not far though) so you might even catch the sale
Craftzone is the one at Pontefract, straight down the M1/M62
