New Focus for a New Year
First Attempt at using Buttons
Got these great buttons at the Stich and Craft show on the weekend, and just had to use them. I've never used buttons before and wasn't sure how to. Especially since I don't sew! I used Pritt extra strong gel, which says on the packaging is OK for scrapbooking. What do other's use for buttons?

Hope that works as I've never posted a link before

Very pretty LO, love all those buttons they are a fav of mine
I have used glue dots, and tacky PVA glue to attach buttons, I bought some Making Memories ones which had double sided tape on them, stuck well enough to the LO ..

Bite me!
I used buttons on a LO at the weekend

I used a little bit of glossy accents to hold them in place, as in the past I have found that glue dots 'unstick' after a while

That's beautiful! I tend to use double sided tape for sticking on my buttons - I find they don't move an inch once stuck down

Thanks for all your comments on sticking buttons. I just checked on my lo now that the glue has dried and it seems to have done the trick. Think I will contiune to use the Pritt gell. Well at least till it runs out.

I use ribbon through them and then glue them down with glue dots (haven't had them come unstuck yet and some of 'em are five years old), I also do sew through the LO/layer of paper as well. About the only sewing I do
But diamond glaze, scrappy glue, red backed double sided tape, almost anything with work Have fun!

I use buttons a lot (big collection as sewing is one of my passions also).I like to use perga glue - its for pregamano craft. It seems to stick everything including metal. With a small tip you can just apply a small amount. Another good tip is to thread cotton through your buttons so that they look like they have been stitched-tie on back or front depending on what look you want.
have fun

I always sew them on, would never have thought of glueing them on. I like the tail of the cotton showing in a tassel shape coming up from the button giving a slightly shabby look.

I've been known to do the ribbon or thread through the buttons and then glue it on anyhow <G>

Handbag, shoe and choco - holic!
Very nice!
I either sew or stick on with Diamond glaze or PVA.

I use Gloo to stick mine down with and then i get my white gel pen and do a little white line from hole to hole to make it look like its been sewn on.
Tried glue dots and my buttons fell off. Bet i had a duff pack.
