    stamping on/cardmaking with velvet

Hello everyone..been having a tidy-up and have thrown away a note I made about a magazine I wanted to look our for.

    Maybe someone can help?

I made a note that a magazine was coming out which had an article about velvet ( I think it was stamping on velvet or using it in cardmaking/scrapping).
Anyone know what I am thinking of and what mag it was , or whether it is out yet? Don't live very close to a good newsagent, so can't go and browse the shelves without quite a long trip.

    Thanks a lot

I don't know which mag but you can stamp on velvet, another trick is using a rubber stamp and an iron! Put the rubber stamp face up, lay the velvet on top with the fluffy bit on top of the rubber stamp and using a hot-ish iron iron the back of the velvet

I've read about this but was worried the stamp would melt.

Done it a few times using either velvet paper or welvet ribbon and the stamps have been fine. Apparently the tempreture of iron is less than the temp used to mould the rubber.

My tip would be to ink in contrasting colour the stamp and /or use a bold stamp as more effective.

    Have a play!

you get a better impression if you spray a "little" water on too.
