    Scrap Yourself!

Girls - say you will join me for a challenge!

I have it permanently rammed down my throat about how "odd" I should scrap myslef - be it family, DH, friends. I dont think this is odd - after all - is DH/boyf/fiance/parents gonna scrap about you? - something to pass down the line? I want my daughter to know me - what I like - why I love her etc etc so whilst I was doing a little 6x6 page about me last night using very basic scrap supplies I thought - "I know - I'll get everyone to do one".

I encourage you to make just a small page to make into a small book - perhaps a paperbag book....a little bom, discreet enough to save for days when you feel the need to express yourself. And when you have done one - load it to the gallery. There is a prize for the one that makes me cry - which infact most of them do!!!! The majority have used the "I am a Mother"/"I am a Woman" title but feel free to choose a suitable title but do include doodles and primas if you can xx

    Will you come and play?

**loads of you have signed up - i have had one international interest who has finished already - its on my blog. Infact - we now have 8 Celebrity scrappers onboard so far - Donna Downey, Cathy Zielske, Rhonna Farrer, Renee Pearson, Ali Edwards, Wendy Smedley (editor of simple scrapbooks) Tara Whitney, Emily Falconbridge and Donna Wild (oz scrapper)**

    **Deadline end of April **

Excellent idea - I made an 8x8 My Book About Me last Autumn. I have the scanned pages all in a webshots album - is it okay to post the link?

Love this idea Kirsty. I'll try and have a go!

Debra (Maggs 0034) did a book about herself and after she died, we all felt it would be so cherished by her boys and her husband.

But we don't need to do it and be morbid. Just celebrate us!!!

Can I join in too please ???

I actually hate the thought of scrapping myself (in fact I haven't so far) so would really find this a challenge.

Does this have to be a new page??

I think it is a shame that you've had this reaction, Kirsty. I'd get all huffy and artistic on them

There are a long line of artistic endeavours that celebrate the self. How about......
    diaries
    autobiographies
    self portraits
    needlework samplers

.....there must be more, but it is late!

I keep getting the urge to do a BOM but never get round to actually doing it. so I may make this into a paper bag book. I agree with carol4312, it would be a challenge that i may have to take up.

I did this last week !! I went to a class and we made a great page with new AMM papers and wire and stuff (very different to my usual thing) but the title and journalling was meant to describe 'YOU'. It was somewhat girly and I couldn't face doing another cat page so I just did it on ME.

I was pretty impressed actually even though I still felt embarassed when everyone around me was doing their daughters, felt very self centered when I shouldn't have Why is that - we shouldn't feel that way but we still do ?? !

Shall I do it? Can I do it? Can I bear to look at a LO of me - I don't know - but I'll give it a go.
