Help needed!!

My Craft robo is tearing the paper in stead of cutting it? The blade is new but last night i put the carrier mat through without paper by mistake!! would this make the blade blunt.
Has anybody any ideas or do i just have to replace the blade?

Another question
I have noticed that some users talk about a cutting mat. Is this something i should be using?

I have put my carrier sheet through a couple of time without paper and it hasn't done any damage.

Are you using the o'ring? Make sure you are using the right colour blade and thickness for the type of media you are using? There are media settings that are pre-set in the software, use those as a rough guide to start with, then as you get used to it you can add your own. I don't really fuss too much the pre-sets cover just about everything.

The cutting mat is the black strip just behind the roller so you don't need to worry about that.

i ordered a new blade and craft robo is now cutting!!
I have just cut out 18 and 21 for birthday cards and a wedding dress for a card. It is brilliant!!
Is there any tip for not bending letters and numbers when you are peeling them off the carrier mat?
