Aceatone question
I was just reading about transfering a printed laser copy image by laying face down onto the surface you want to transfer in on and gently soaking the back with aceatone. I give a fab aged fade look that you tint with chalks or pencils or just leave.
My question is has anyone tried this and were can you get aceatone from?
I really want to give it a go but don't want to buy a ton of the stuff if I am not going to use it.

you can get acetone from your local chemist - they may have it hidden away tho cos it can be abused - should be about £1 for a small bottle - not tried the technique tho sorry

I think I have heard of this, but it used cellulose based thinners rather than acetone. hammerite is great for this if it helps! No help on finding acetone tho I am afraid, we have had the same bottle of it for years!!

hmmmm - we have acetone at work, I may have to "acquire" a small amount.
It's also found in some nail varnish removers, cheap ones usually, could be also worth a try.

Acetone is what you use to remove false nails - it melts the plastic. (Beauty therapy training coming out now!) You can get it from the chemist - I get mine in a big bottle from the beauty wholesalers.

I dont know how safe it is in an album though for those that are strict alfers...
