Scanning film negs
Could someone please tell me - what equipment I need to scan 35mm film negs into my computer and then produce a CD of them. - or is this something I have imagined hearing about...!

I have a built in negative reader on my scanner, I did specifically buy it because it had that function but thought it would end up being a novelty but I use it loads and loads!!! It's a printer/scanner/copier and the model is Epson RX500. I think you can buy standalone scanners with the function too.

I have an Epson CX3200 and an Epson R300 , so they're no good then ?
Is it easy to do ? and do you need a special attachment on the RX500 ?

Is this just the scanner?
I need a new one and would like the slide facility on it, however I could do with a new printer too so does anyone know if you can get both combined at a reasonable price please?

I bought this one earlier this year, and it's brill !! It has a section in the lid for fitting an extra piece (included with printer) for scanning negatives or slides. As all the baby pics of my brother and myself were processed as slides I'm now trying to convince my parents to dig them all out for me
The only thing I've tried so far that it doesn't like is printing on vellum or thick tracing paper. Vellum ends up all smudged, regardless of the print setting. Thick tracing paper just gets chewed up
One big bonus it has going for it is that it has a seperate ink tank for each colour, making it very economical -- no more throwing away half the yellow because the blue's run out

mad, manic and messy
I went into Jessops this week to have my slides put onto disk (so I could use the mounts and have my pictures safe lol) and they wanted 50p each slide! and to print them it would cost 87p each - I walked away very miserable but now I'm off to check my scanner! Many thanks

Which Epson model is it for £60 ?
Aktivdirect are offering free printers if you buy multiple packs of their copy cartridges, but I don't know if this is one of them.
