I think they'd be great - really quick too. Just stick some patterned paper round them, make a label from co-ordinating paper or cardstock, put the recipient's name on using rub ons/die cut letters/stamps etc and decorate with Prima flowers, buttons, ribbons........
I'm sure they'd be a hit, as they could be used afterwards to store little trinkets or toys in. Or used as a pencil pot!

Also, why not include rulers, pens, pencils, pencil sharpners, postcards, badges, bookmards and such with the Sheffield/South Yorkshire logo printed on as little fillers. Sheffield Scene on Surrey Street (near the central library) have some great Sheffield goodies. I send Birthday presents and parcels every Christmas to the States, and they always ask if I'm going to find something new with a logo on.
Oh, I just thought, they even sell wrapping paper and tags with the Sheffield Coat Of Arms printed on it... wonder if it could be used for backing paper or embellishments?
