Altering charms

Has anyone got any ideas on how to change the colour of those metal word charms? I have one that spells 'wishes' in silver but my LO is oranges and golds so I would like to be able to alter it. Any ideas? Any help gratefully received.

You could paint it, I've used acrylic paint to alter mine before.

You can change the colour of metal embellishments by heat embossing but you might need ultrafine embossing powder so that the word remains clear - not sure, as I've only ever done it with brads.

Or colour it with permanent OHP markers

I've recoloured many charms with Krylon pens... it always seems the case that I want my gold charms silver and my silver charms gold!

The Krylon pens work a treat!
