Exclamation 2022 card challenge - July

    Evening all!

The prompt for July definitely embraces the focus colour for this month, which is: Yellow

Now, I know, like purple it can be a bit of a marmite colour for many a crafter... but I must admit I have come to appreciate it more in recent years.

Long gone are the days when yellow cardstock only came in zingy get-your-shades-at-the-ready bright primary or sour lemon yellow. There are some lovely soft chiffon yellows and buttery tones in many colour ranges, but also saturated shades like mustard that work really well, especially when paired with grey as a neutral.

And, oh yes... so many lovely shades of yellow in the Distress range.

And of course yellow nuvo/enamel dots can be a perfect finishing touch if that's the only yellow you can bear to use...

So, without further ado, here is this month's full-on yellow pin-spiration....

    07 - July pinspiration.jpg

I look forward to seeing how you interpret it - remember I've listed a few tips over on the blog post for this month.

The full instructions and details for this year's challenge can be found in the intro post on my blog here.

Past prompts will all be tagged under 2022 card challenge on my blog, so you can find them easily in one place.

Also, for those of you on Instagram, I'll be using the hashtag #2022handmadecardchallenge to share my projects there, so feel free to use this tag on Instagram as well!

    Points for this challenge:
This challenge usually scores you 20 points. As with all the other UKS challenges, you can only claim this once a month.
But remember, you can also claim points for up to 10 cards you make in any month.

    Happy crafting!

I bet I have no Norwich fan cards to make this month! Might just make an early one anyway. As you say Marmite colour, not one of my favourite but as it's our team's colour I have developed a liking. When I worked in school I would get given yellow flowers by the kids which was really sweet of them. Happy memories. I'm sure I'll get this challenge done.

I like yellow but it’s never really my go to colour so thanks Nat for making me use it
Here’s a yellow new home card, inspired by a card I found on Pinterest

I love little houses, what a great way to make one stand out, love this, always a good idea to have a spare New Home card about- I never do. I like the use of letters stickers too, I spend ages looking for the right stamp! Great card.

Thanks Karelyn. My dies and stamps are in such a mess I figured letter stickers were the way to go

    Lol, 'tis always the way!

The amount of times I make a card in good time for a certain event, and then almost miss posting it in time for said event. Oh dear...

That is a fabulous card Alison, so clean and fresh and pretty, love it!

I make a card and leave the insert to the last second so it is always rushed. Why do I do that!!!

Next time we do a die swap and please God don't make it just yet, I'd like some of those sweet little house please Alison. So handy and so pretty, especially the way you've made one stand out, such a super idea.

It’s not an original design, I pretty much copied it from a card on Pinterest.
I can send you a few little houses Susie, not a problem, I know where that die is it’s one of my favourites and I always know where it is !
A little tip I have picked up to make things stand out more is to cut several and stick together to make a thicker image, there’s a couple of white houses stuck behind the yellow house

I would love that Alison and just look what I found if you'd like some of these in return. I bought a few of these different little dies from the Range as you can see and haven't even used the New Home one yet. Would you like some to go with your little houses?
