Cutting Issue | corners and text corrupted

Hi,

Just brought a 2nd hand Silhouette Portrait 2. I am very excited but think I am doing something wrong.

Poor corner and poor straight lines are more pronounced.in thin card
material than on paper.

I am a Portrait 2, with a (New) Silhouette Kraft Blade 2mm with cutting mat. Yes

Trying to cur paper, copier A4. 80g/m2

Using setting:-
Blade number: 2
Speed number: 10
Force number: 15

I am using the Silhouette Go App (Android Open Beta 0.8.811) I am able to cut from both the app Silhouette Go (Android Open Beta 0.8.811)
and github.com/fablabnbg/inkscape-silhouette No access to mac or window machines.

As an example I am using test.svg

Output:-

output1.jpg
output1_zoom.jpg
output2.jpg

Any idea what I am doing wrong ?

Just wondering why you are using the 2mm Kraft blade with copy paper as it is meant for denser materials like leather, craft foam, acetate etc. It is a big broad blade and cannot make small intricate cuts as it doesn’t rotate like the auto or ratchet blades. It needs to go outside the cutting lines to make a loop to rotate. Also I think you are going to be very limited just using the Silhouette Go app.

Because I did not know any better! Thanks for the help. I order a new suitable blade.

Not heard of the software your using. Have you tried downloading the latest silhouette studio software. You can download and play about with it while your waiting for your blades.
