Welcome 2023 and moving forward...

Hi all.

There will be a few things happening soonish, but after a very long time of avoiding it, I managed to catch Covid and am really not very well.

I won't dwell on it.

I have to do a bit of tidying up over the next weeks, but much of it will have to wait til I am a bit better

One thing I will do is HIDE the Graphtec forum and limit access to it. At this moment there are a few options and I am not sure which one I will choose. I might do it via a user group - like the old Template User group. When I sort out how, I'll let people know. I might pre-approve anyone who has posted in that forum in the last couple of months, we'll see.

I still hope to remove gallery stuff to make room for people to have more upload space. With such a small population we should be able to allow much more than we do now. This is something Hubby and I need to coordinate and he has Covid too so...

I really do hope in a few days I will feel better, but the last days have been rough. Thank goodness it is likely Omicron!

MaryAnne, so sorry you and your DH are both ill, and hope you both recover soon. Any changes you want to make to UKS can wait a bit I'm sure. Meantime can I also add my voice to the chorus cheering that UKS is to continue? Many thanks to you and your army of behind-the-scenes helpers.

Is there any news of what will happen when 2024 comes along ?

LOL! Well as you know UKS is pretty quiet. I know there are still people who love it but I am not sure how any of the sponsors feel.

We had to make a trip back to the States (literally just returned) to visit aging parents with health concerns and to do some admin stuff that needed to be done in person. I have not been feeling great, a new regime meds-wise has not produced the effect hoped for. I'll know more after my next blood test and consultant appointment but I fear it will only show my condition is not well in control at all. I am rather giving up hope it ever will be.

What that all means I do not know. I do know that UKS will carry on into January so I have a chance to enjoy the holidays with my family (and plan a wedding for Dear Son and his Sweet Girlie!) then I'll see.

I do promise not the just pull the plug! If UKS does shut the door I will give everyone a few months to get what they want, download stuff, and collect contact info. But for the last few years UKS has stayed open on my money. I've been OK with that but it isn't going to go on that way forever.

Sorry there isn't better (or firmer) news.

Mary Anne, thankyou so much for the update. Yes there’s not many of us left, but we do like to keep in touch here.

Hi MaryAnne - firstly, thank you so much for all that you do and are still doing for UKS. Then- how lovely to make a trip "back home" even if not for the best of reasons. I also hope that your health issues can be improved, at least a little.
I look forward to hearing some good news as to whether we can continue in 2024. Till then - best wishes and wishing you happiness.
