    Blade Advice

I plan on cutting some plastic file dividers to see if I can produce a stencil I could put through my die cutting/embossing machine. Would you recommend keeping the blade I use just for this type of material, or perhaps use an older blade to try it out. I have the Cameo 4 which does have different types if blades, which I haven’t purchased as yet, as it is my understanding that these blades are for cutting thicker materials.

I hope you all have a successful and fun filled crafty day.

Haven't cut anything like that personally but would imagine it's quite hard on the blade - I would probably try with an older blade at first.

Yes I thought I would try an old blade first before trying a current newer blade. Thank you for your response.

I used deep cut blade i think 13 or 12. Do a test cut first. Or can use rachet blade at 7-8. Hope this helps. but do test cut first.

I have actually cut the plastic file dividers using an old ratchet blade on 3 and it cut fine, but the experiment of trying to make a file to try embossing didn’t work. I had up to four copies of the design stuck together, but it was a waste of time. I did enjoy playing though.
