    June 2020 snap prompts

Well, that was a turn up for the books, I didn't realise it was my turn so I have struggled a bit. Since we are coming out of lockdown I thought prompt 1 could be...

Family/friends/places - who will you be seeing or where will you be going that hasn't been possible for a while.

Far away - try taking shots of something in the distance, then zoom in and see how they compare and let's see both.

Time - pick one hour of the day, for me it will probably be 4pm and take a photo of what you're doing then, whether it be shopping, gardening, crafting, housework having a cup of tea, whatever. You might forget some days but that's okay.

Can I go to bed now please?

Here's an example of trying out the zoom on my camera when I first got it about 13 years ago. I never guessed I'd be able to see so much.

Iíve been out in the garden This morning and taken these.
The tree looks ok from a distance but you can see itís dying back

Beautiful roses Elaine. I’ve never been bothered about roses but may have to find one or two to try

    Morning all.
    Some nice photos already!
    Gorgeous roses Elaine.
Alison, how could you not be bothered about Roses? Every garden should have Roses,
for their beauty and in some cases their fragrance If you want a good rose,
David Austin roses are the best in MHO. I had one called Graham’s Thomas. It was yellow, and
it flowered and flowered. Another nice pink one is Gertrude Jekyll .

Anyway this is what I was doing at 10 o’clock today

That love in a mist is so lovely isn’t it.
Ellie sorry , I don’t like the prickly stems, and the leaves are very boring. The actual flowers are lovely though. I think it might subconsciously be because I fell in a bed of roses as a child and got very badly scratched, that memory just came back to me as I was writing !
I have a couple of ugly Rose bushes and I have just cut all the flowers and buds and brought them indoors! The climbers look lovely though, I shall have to try one

What a great start, see Elaine was right you can zoom Mary, it doesn't have to be that long distance. I don't use that camera much now and it's a shame because it is the better of the two despite my newer one having a 30x zoom it is just so much heavier than the new one. I've just planted LIAM and I'm going to scatter seeds around them so as they die back the new plants should be coming through.

Alison that was one of the Beetham Towers going up. I was standing at Costco and decided to try out my (back then) new camera. I was staggered at what a great zoom it had, only 10x but when I cropped the last photo, although it was a bit grainy you could see what everyone was doing up there. You couldn't see from the first photo that anyone was even working up there. My neighbour was council leader and I showed them to him and he asked for copies to send to the guy who was building the tower to let him see how they were busy working away. There is one of my rare scrapbook LO's on here using those photo's from the SLYMI days.

Beautiful display of roses Elaine and what a shame about the tree. We noticed one in our vale has died and I hate to see trees dying.

Alison I actually got rid of a beautiful yellow rose I used to get so fed up picking up the petals. In my defence, we were having the decking put in and the rose had to go it was called Golden Showers. It did have a lovely fragrance and wen ended up putting a camellia in and that drops even more petals and makes more mess.

So that's what you were up to at 11am Alison, who needs track and trace.

I'm surprised yours wasn't ironing Ellie. Lovely shot of the pigeon and what a blue sky, just stunning.

All my compost has finally arrived so we will be planting later but must get in the shower before 4pm, you wouldn't want a shot of that.
