I always do a 5 egg omelette anyway Ellie, fancy 3 double yolkers though, that's value for money. Such a shame about the petals being torn off.

The cherry trees are also in tubs so they can be moved anywhere that gets them out of the way. Up to this year they've been on the deck but have been blown over so many times I've lost count. In the end we moved them on to the paved area and behind them is a large camellia and yucca that we threw in to get it out of the way. Boy, was that a mistake as it has started to take off now. We can push the tubs further back to the side but you can see from that photo how the fleece is forcing the branches down when the wind gets in. Must go and see if the cherries are ready.

I took a photo of the pots that I put the peppers in Alison, must measure them. One is a bigger pot with the smallest plant but it was a bit of a late comer. They will only go outside on very warm days, most of the time they are happy indoors, I do wish we had a space for a greenhouse.

We have found the problem with the cucumbers, they hate the hot weather. They are much happier now and coming on well. We have had 3 cucumbers off the first plant so far and they are much sweeter than the ones you buy in the shops.

Can anyone help me find the list for the dates of the challenges please. Mind is set for February but it is too dark in the day for me to scrap or craft for that matter by the time I drag myself out of my pit. I was hoping to find an august or September and see if anyone would mind swapping but I can't find the list only the old lists. That is if Karen won't mind either of course.

Susie, would April 12 th be any good, or is that still too early.
I’m doing Nov and April, but could swap.
If you want the list go to House Challenge, click on the top thread, fist page,
and it’s the second lot of dates.

Ellie, I'm confused. If the first list is the one preceding the second list does that mean I am doing one in July already? If so your April one would be better for me as the clocks will have at least gone forward by then and I'll have a tiny bit more light. Summer months are always best for me as you know.

Yes I think that’s it. The first one is up to Aug, and the second continues after that.
So it looks like you are doing one in July.
If you want to swap it’s ok.

Good job you told me where it was because I thought that first part was last year's list. Would you believe it, I had it down on my calendar already!!! So yes, I would be happy to swap February for April if you don't mind and Karen doesn't mind. I imagine so long as she gets a challenge she won't mind at all.

Alison, those pots are about 12" in diameter, at least the largest is and the smaller about 2 inches less. I prefer the larger one but hubby moans about the amount of compost I use - that said, my neighbour has just picked up 3 more bags for me and I've found a home for two more celery plants.

Lovely photo Elaine. She does look happy, and grown up.
They seem to grow up so much quicker these days. I’m sure every
generation says that ! Perhaps it’s because we are getting older

Bit better day here, not as cold.

    Fabulous Hosta Ellie - drat!

What a change in Miss A, she looks more confident as well as extremely happy. It is a stunning photo and she certainly has had a growth spurt. I wish I'd felt that happy going to school, I don't ever remember feeling that way, sad to say.

We are going to make a start planning the craft room today. First thing is to clear the top of the loft bed to see how much I'm hiding up there. We moved the Kallax unit we were given into the spare bedroom and then filled the units, they take such a lot. She also gave me 5 of the fold up inserts which are brilliant and two of the unit have doors on already. I've told hubby I would want all the units to have white plywood backs on so spiders can't get in there. When I designed the kitchen I took a piece of graph paper and literally measured everything that had to go in and got the best use out of a very small kitchen. Even the kitchen planners we had out told me I couldn't have in what I wanted so I sat down and worked it out for myself. So we're going to do the same with this because it needs planning before we start moving everything. It needs decorating although, get this, we are thinking of leaving the old wallpaper on - shock horror. We've never done that before although I have moved into old houses and found 6 layers of wallpaper on the walls. The wallpaper is old tired but perfect so we can try and if we feel it is going to give we can strip it down.

So, the plan is to start in August after my challenge at the end of July because it means my Mac might be out of action for a while. I'm trying to salvage some of my units as my desk with my Mac is invaluable and was wondering if hubby could spray it white. Or does it all have to match really??? It would be great but it is more about having usable space. The other day I was looking for my 2 black ink pads, can't find them anywhere since I bought a tray to store them in, which keeps falling apart by the way, it needs sticking together some way. I might take some individual photo's of the units so you can let me know if you think I would be best keeping them. I don't want to end up wishing I'd kept the paper storage. You can tell I was brought up in an era of make do and mend.

    Ellie, I'll pm Karen next.
