    Mount board trimmer

I'm starting a new business selling personalised Framed pictures and I'm searching for a trimmer that cuts thicker materials like mountboard and foam board. Any recommendations?

The only way I've found - is a stanley knife and a metal ruler. I've not used cutting machines as the blades are always tiny and won't go through the depth of the boards. You could always make a score line first with a normal trimmer (if the mount boards piece is small enough to fit in the machine you have. The cut through with the stanley knife.

You can get mountboard trimmers ranging from the sophisticated heavy duty sliding cutters which give you straight or bevelled edges to cheaper ones consisting of a ruler and a cutting mechanism. Have a look at a local art shop, they should be able to advise on different types and the pros and cons for what you need. Have a search online as well for mountboard cutters. I'm sorry I can't recommend a particular make.

I have a Logan cutter system and I highly recommend them. They are a cutter and ruler system rather than a trimmer because pictures needing framing can be quite large. The blades are easy to replace and the system is a dream to use.
