Elaine, sorry you are not enjoying your holiday. On the news over here last night there was something about the conditions over there being caused by bush fires near by and that the orange haze is smoke, which is stopping flights etc. I hope it improves soon for you. Susie, glad dog's breath has improved, hope all goes well at the vets on Thursday. Today I went to see Doug's sister and we've booked all our trips for the next cruise at the end of March.

Elaine, what else can a girl do when you’re trapped inside ?! Hope it was as yummy as it looks

Phase 8 is where I’ve found some options. I want something less formal really but I think it depends on what I can find. So far the options are mainly shades of pink. The men are not wearing matching suits, and no tails.
Ellie, havent been to Jane Young yet, may try there at the weekend. My DIL won a £100 voucher for there at the ball last week, she was well pleased !

Denise, you’re right, I do work better under pressure. I’ve made a big list today of what needs doing and I shall be working through it, and hassling DD who is even more last minute than I am !

Wow that was a great win for DIL Alison.
I do like Jane Young. It usually has good clothes in.
I only looked in the window of Phase 8 ,but did notice lots
of pastel colours. Hope you find something.

Sheila, where are you going on your cruise in March?

Which colours suit you Alison or can you wear anything? Are you staying in the same outfit for the evening reception? My sister and I did, it was hard enough finding one outfit although one or two guests changed. At least you're nice and slim so just about anything should look good on you. I always have to be careful of my tummy as having IBS I bloat so nothing to clingy for me. Brilliant win for your DIL. Oh for heaven's sake I started looking at dresses and had to stop.

Dog's breath is stinky again tonight, I guess I spoke too soon.

Where's the next cruise going to be to Sheila?

We are sailing from Dover on the 29th March, going to Coruna (Spain), Lisbon, Madeira, Mindelo (Cape Verde), Praia (Cape Verde), Tenerife and Vigo (Spain). It's for 19 nights/days but we're at sea for 11 of them. We get home on the 17th April, so will be away for Easter. This time I'm going with Doug's sister - just the 2 of us, because Yvonne & Doug can't go now Yvonne is on dialysis 3 times a week.

Sounds great Sheila, you are hooked on cruises now aren’t you !
DD has booked one for their honeymoon, Rome to Barcelona, hope this coronavirus has calmed down by the time she goes in June .
We’re going on a cruise for the first time round Alaska in the summer.

Susie colours on the blue/cool colour spectrum suit me best, nothing too yellow or red. A couple of the dresses I’ve found are a dusky pink which I think is ok, need to try them again

    Morning all.
Your cruise sounds lovely Sheila. The bushfires were in Gran Canaria but that didnít affect us. It is a huge sandstorm..you can even see it from outer space apparently. The worst of the storm seems to have passed through and I believe they have opened the airport to some destinations but not others.
We took the car out yesterday and visited some caves (which, of course, werenít affected by the storm) but when we surfaced again it was so bad we headed back to the hotel where we had a meal indoors in the restaurant here. The filth everywhere is very off putting and the other end of the island seems even worse affected than here so better the devil you know and all that.
As we had a big lunch we skipped dinner last night but went to the bar and met a very nice couple that we spent the evening with, chatting and passing the time. We will go off to breakfast in a minute and Iím hoping to get a massage later as I have a pain in my left leg that wonít go away. Other than that, a day of reading and watching the iPad again...with, possibly, a little lie on a sun-bed? We will see.
Good luck with the outfit Alison.

Two images of the sandstorm..one from outer space that shows the whole of the Canaries covered. The other is the airport.
