Thanks ladies and I'll pass your wishes on to my hairdresser too Alison.

Elaine, if you can afford your treat and enjoy it then do it. You could pay anything from £50 for a really good cut and colour to £150 depending on where you want to go here. I know you will pay more in the south but all cities charge more for everything. House prices here are more expensive than say on the Wirral, simply because we are in a city. I met my hairdresser when she was working for a salon in town and I found her because a couple of friends had wonderful short haircuts and I asked who did their hair. She left when she was expecting and worked from home in her salon there. I pay - wait for it - £12.50 for a cut and blow dry and I buy my colour and she charges £5 extra for putting that on and we mix two colours to get the right shade. She does a brilliant cut and if ever I was in doubt it has been confirmed by the number of hairdressers who have asked me who cuts my hair. Usually hairdressers can be quite rude about someone else's work and when my hairdresser wasn't working for a short time because she'd had a baby I went to a salon which had a good reputation. I asked for their top stylist and he asked me who cut my hair. I thought he was going to say something rude but instead he said "Well, she does a wonderful cut." I thought that was so nice. Once you find a good hairdresser I say stick with them, so enjoy your treat Elaine.

Hope your cut has gone well Ellie, don't you feel so much better after, especially if it is long. Mine takes 4 weeks or less before I need another cut.

Yes thanks Susie, I’m all clean and tidy now

Elaine ,yes I go to the same saloon. I used to go to one in Barnsley, but he got extremely expensive.
Also there was the trip up and down the motorway each time .
This one is more local and I pay £75 for cut, blow and highlights. But I get 20% off
because I’m a senior citizen I go about every six weeks.
As Susie says if you can afford your treats ,why not, you have worked for them!!
I don’t feel guilty at all about spending money, well just sometimes
    If I hadn’t got it, I wouldn’t spend it !!

Susie ,yours sounds like a super hairdresser, and cheap as well.
    Ellie

Yay !!! Correct answer Elaine. It’s a small bud vase DH turned for me from a Banksia Cone.
Sorry about the Architect not coming today. That’s the trouble when it’s a friend, you can’t say anything !

That is a beautiful bud vase Ellie, isn't DH clever.

Elaine, what a nuisance especially as you are looking forward to getting it done. It is difficult when it is a friend, you can't say too much can you.

Here is my gorgeous card off Ellie and it does make me smile, especially as the dog is covered in the juice from the strawberries exactly as our boys would be given half a chance.

Waiting for my hairdresser today as she'd gone to pick up the dog from the groomers, so I took a couple of photo's, both red and both looking down.

Great photo's everyone. Happy Birthday Susie, love the card Ellie made, it made me smile too. I've been going to the same hairdressers for about 15 years and she is brilliant. For a cut & blow dry it's £18.00, and for colour/hi-lites it's about £35.00. I have tried others but always disappointed with results. Every time I have my hair done, people say how nice it looks. Today I went to the doctors just to check I'm ok to fly on Thursday - it's a 9 hour flight, and I've still got an irritating cough. She checked me over, and said I'll be fine but to have a restful holiday if possible. I think that might be do-able. I went to Mabels to have my nails done, and am really pleased with the finished result photo attached. my cruise nails.jpg Not sure if I'll be able to get wifi while I'm away, so if not, I will see you all next month. We leave the Caribbean on the 30th January, but don't arrive back in the UK until the 31st.

    Have a wonderful time Sheila
Oh my..what a gale and storm we are having. It has blown over a big piece of marble in our garden and smashed it, the chairs and bins were all strewn about and the howling wind is so loud. Not sure how much sleep I shall get. That's one of the troubles with a chalet style house with the bedrooms in what would have been the loft... so noisy. Too cold in winter, too hot in summer! Note to self..don't buy a chalet style on top of a hill again!

But you have a lovely view Elaine. It was awful here today, the rain eased but the wind just suddenly got up although not as bad as you're having from the sounds of things.

Sheila, have a wonderful holiday and do get some rest as your doctor suggested. I love the nails.

    Morning.
Well what a cafuffle, I’ve just seen red !
A fox ran up the garden, grabbed a chicken and ran off !!
I couldn’t get outside quick enough to stop him.
I caught the others, locked them in and told them they’re not coming out again for a while. They’d just come out for their morning walk around so won’t be letting them do that again for a while. Only good thing is that he took a cockerel who was noisy and cocky and fought with the older one.

Boy Elaine, you did have it windy ! We’re quite exposed here but I don’t think we had it quite as windy thankfully.

Susie, lovely to see a little bit of red in the garden, Cute reindeer.

Sheila, lovely nails ! Have a wonderful holiday and enjoy the rest x

Mary. Sorry you’re not feeling your best. Is it the constant grey days ?
Is your mystery object a scoop ?
    Alison
