That’s such good news. Thanks you for all the hard work... and a HUGE thank you to the sponsors. I’m really doing my best to keep the, all going single handedly

I hope we get some donations from those that don’t pop in as much as we do so you don’t have to dip in your own pocket.

Thanks to all who donated. It will all help - and any leftovers roll on from year to year. The more leftover, the less I need the following year.

And it is really important to acknowledge the daily contributions from Miniowner and Scrapdolly. This cannot be overstated. A couple of years ago I was hit with a statin-induced necrotising myositis that is particularly debilitating. I won't bore you with the details but it's something they have not yet managed to get under control. The levels they track should be 20-200. At my worst I was 6000. At my best, a year ago, it was still over 300. I am now at over 1600 and climbing (up 300 last month.) That is enough to say without becoming tedious - I use the numbers as shorthand - higher numbers and I am less strong.

ANYWAY, without those two amazing ladies, who are so dedicated to UKS and keeping it running, adding fresh challenges to keep you motivated, and their unwavering support that means I can do stuff when I feel able but can take a back seat when I am not, UKS would have shut down two years ago.

So in addition to showing support for the sponsors, please let Scrapdolly and Miniowner know how very much you appreciate them. I say it, but probably not enough! I CAN'T say it enough, cause if I tried it would be just about the only thing I ever said.

Great news Mary Anne. As you said those two ladies are invaluable. They
do such good work, and even if we don’t say it enough they are appreciated.
    Off to donate now.

Good grief MaryAnne, that sounds horrific and you say that a statin caused your problems, so scary. I have been putting off going on statins because I am scared of the damage they will do to my muscles affected by M.E. which are very weak at the best of times. I had no idea they could cause such destruction. I do hope that in the near future they can sort out this illness and make you well again. The stress of all of this will not be helping at all. A big Thank You to Susan and Karen for all you do. I doubt many of us realise how much work goes in to keeping UKS up and running so smoothly. A big Thank You to you too MaryAnne.

MaryAnne you know how much UKS has meant to me ... saved me from a dark place back in 2003 and I could never ever give enough back. It is an absolute joy to be able to help play a part ... I love it still and love that people still love it too. I am just pleased that years and years ago you put trust in me to help by moderating etc and that I’ve been able to help shoulder your burden of the day to day stuff with Sue ... who is a blinking joy to work with and an utter star

Yes, it is a more severe triggered reaction to statins. Lots of people stop taking them due to muscle weakness and/or pain but when they stop the problem resolves. In a small group of people the statins trigger an autoimmune response and you get what I got. It never goes away and it sucks - especially given my cholesterol was not even high. I'll PM you.

I cannot reiterate how much I enjoy being a part of UKS and how grateful I am to both Sue and Karen aswell as yourself.
I hope 2020 brings you some much deserved relief from such a debilitating illness. Good wishes to you all.

    Thank you
