    to renew or to fix that is the dilemma

    I foolishly had put my Cameo on the floor for a week.. stupid I know, I had to step over it when sitting on my PC chair, I must have bumped it as I think I have knocked the optical eye out of alignment, as it now doesn't even try to find the registrations marks.
    So.........big question ???? .........
    Do I.....see if it can be fixed, (it's a Cameo 1) (I think) or ..... bite the bullet and just get an .......up to date Cameo....
    What, if any, are the differences from the first Cameo to the latest model.
    Suggestions on a postcard please ..........

    Hi Grace. I have an old Craft Robo - much loved, well used - which is still going strong. I sometimes have a problem with registration marks and it is always because I need to realign the card / cutting mat in the machine. Sometimes it takes a couple of goes before Robby decides he likes THAT positioning and will now happily read the reg marks!!! Just a thought and hope it helps.

    Sorry to hear that Grace. According to SA there's a problem with the Cameo 1 and a recent Windows update . Have a look at Shirleys post (no 13) here https://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards...t=#post6731649

    Thanks Doreen, I have read that now, and I will look and see if my PC did an update, I’m presuming it still cuts, but will have to check it, I just thought it was just the optical eye.

    If you decided to replace your Cameo there's a new one coming soon it'the Cameo 4

    well it still cuts, I'm going to give Graphtec a call and see if I can get an estimate to help me make a decision

    Just phoned Graphtec £89 to fix out of warranty, plus carriage, I don't think I could justify spending more than 3 times that on a new machine at the moment, so a fix it's going to be, I've got some etching to do, I'll do that and get it sent away, and back in time to do Christmas cards. Thanks for your help Doreen.

    Did you tty to use the "reset registration" ? I can send a screen print if you cannot find it.

    Yes, a new one is pending,graphtec have as much new info on the new machines as they were given.

    Thanks Susannah, I've decided I will just get it repaired, if it still needs it after I check what Petrina has suggested, but thanks for your input.
