I don’t know if I’ve posted this card before. I made it for a friend who sails, but
never sent it !!! It has dark blue and gold on it .

Thanks for the lovely comments all, and great cards Elaine and Ellie.

Anyone planning on doing some crafting this weekend?

I need to take my decorations down but am hoping to still get a festive card made for this challenge.

Great card Ellie, why have you never sent it, it's perfect for your sailing friend.

Nat, I should be making cards but I need pinks although I do love this colour scheme. I also need to get decs down but have to go for an eye test tomorrow so that will be a trip into town, needs must and all that.

I'm doing some crafting this weekend - teaching 3 ladies some card-making tomorrow morning, and got some needlework to do for Sunday.

I have my regular Saturday crop and Sunday craft day this weekend, but the decorations should be coming down later on Sunday, seems a shame as we were late putting them up so I feel I haven't had them for very long!!
Hopefully I may get something done for the challenge during the weekend crafting :-)

I have taken all mine down now and the house looks very bare. I hope to do some crafting tomorrow as DH is working but today I am on a mission to buy a new dining suite and some mounts for my paintings.
Nat. I love your cards. Can you tell me... on the first one..how do you get the heat embossing on the vellum without the heat curling the paper? Every time I try it, it goes all crinkly!
When I initially saw the prompt I thought it was primarily black and gold but now I realise it is navy..I must get my eyes checked too it seems Susie! Lol

    Elaine

My decs are all down, just need to finish putting them away neatly and organised ready for next Christmas

Hope to get some crafting in over the weekend, I'm trying to sort my albums out and am trying to complete a few unfinished LO's I have. I do have some birthday cards that need doing too

I only had an issue with some of the embossing powder bubbling up in part of the sentiment so it's not as clean as the rest of the embossed sentiment, but my vellum didn't crinkle up or warp really... I just applied heat the same way I do when heat embossing on card but I did keep the sheet down on my craft desk and not just holding it in my hand while blitzing it with the heat gun. Also I think it might be an offcut of some old pergamano parchment paper I bought when I couldn't find vellum in the craft shop. It appears to be thicker than the coloured vellum sheets I have in my v. old stash so perhaps that made the difference.

Aah..that might explain it. Keeping it down might help too. Thank you Nat.
Good luck with the cards Alison

I had been wondering the same. Shimelle heat embossed on vellum the other day in her JYC and I was expecting it to buckle a bit but it didn’t. She was using it as a page divider so it must have been a fairly thick vellum.

AB8E0916-91EF-4CA3-8B05-978BD9AB6453.jpegAnother one. It’s not navy blue, but had dark blue in it, and gold.
Inspired by the stars in the photo.
