Bind it all help needed

I am making a book to give to the class teacher from all the pupils in her class but I cant remember how to measure what size ring you need to bind it. Any suggestion would be great.

Measure the thickness of your book and then go up a size (or even better a couple of sizes) to avoid the pages being difficult to turn.

I think the biggest size is 1 1/2", though I've just checked online and the biggest I could see was 1 1/4", so maybe my memory is playing tricks on me!
