That's what I take it to be, using something like glimmer mist

One of the popular techniques at the moment is to 'mist' through stencils as well ... so you can mist to create textured backgrounds, and then you can take it up a level and mist through stencils to create different backgrounds ... and then mist over a couple of different stencils to create depth and interest onto your projects.

You don't always have to buy mists, as you can make your own using a combination of re-inkers and rubbing alcohol (polypropylene) I tend to use 1/3 re-inker to 2/3 rubbing alcohol, and then a teeny tiny touch of water - shake it all up ... voila!

To add even more interest, you can add some very fine glitter into the mist to create sparkly mists.

    Hope that helps xx

I have no success misting through templates - it tends to 'bleed' and also end up where I don't want it (even if I cover the rest of the paper with kitchen towel). I tend to 'splatter' mist by removing the spray lid and shaking or tapping so that ink/mist drips from the end of the pipe.

I have also got some nice effects by 'painting' with mists. A drop or two mixed with a very small amount of water can be used to 'paint' backgrounds or do colourwashes,

I love the idea of adding glitter to home made mist, I had not heard that before.
Some things have to be believed to be seen.

Unless the glitter is extremely fine you will end up clogging your spray.

I'm not sure I would add glitter as the sprayer will definitely clog up, but you can add mica powder in different colours, and that looks great and definitely doesn't clog up the sprayer. xxxx
