August 2015 Simple Recipes Mood Board

    Hi!
It's that time again, time for a new Simple Recipes Mood Board.......

This month the mood board has a circles theme and to add a bit of contrast there are also a couple of geometric patterns. The video technique I've picked out shows a resist and water resist technique that's very simple to achieve. You could adapt it for use with Distress Inks too if you didn't want to use paint as that should work the same with the water so long as you use a slick surface paper. It's a fun way to decorate your own background for any crafting and of course a fun way to do a background on an art journal page.
In honour of The Great British Bake Off there had to be a recipe on this months' board and because I picked out circles it had to be a cookie recipe! If you're struggling for something fun to do with little ones this summer, especially on a rainy day in the UK chocolate chip cookie making is pretty much perfect. In the same spirit of summer holidays there's a link to a download of a 'Things to Do' list, a great one for your planner or even your fridge door to tick off all those things you want to so before summer ends.
Another thing going on this month in the crafty world is the Ali Edwards Week in the Life. If you're doing that, (I think it might be live next week?) then I found a very cool freebie printable from Me and My Big Ideas with days of the week pocket cards that will work with pretty much any style so they'll be a great starting point.
Have lots of fun this month!

Click here to download the August 2015 Simple Recipe Mood Board Worksheet.
Depending on your connection the download may take a couple of minutes to complete.

Love this challenge. I used the colours, circles and the sketch for this lovely photo of my Grandson in his Saturday casuals.

    Heres mine

I took inspiration from the colour scheme, the painted background, circles (rubber at the end of a pencil dipped in the wet paint to create dots)
