    double line trace

When I try to trace an object drawn with a black line, the trace I do seems to draw either side of the black line, making double cutting line. I want only one cut, going along the black line. How do I do this please?
    Thanks

You can right click your mouse and choose ungroup then delete the double line/s or there are several video's on tracing here

The trace function believes that there are two sides to a black line!! If the design is suitable, an alternative to ungrouping and deleting the extra lines is to fill it with a colour so that it's a solid shape.

Thanks. It was a line drawing I was trying to trace and I see from the link Doreen provided that that is not the best thing to trace.
Regarding filling it with colour, I can't do that in silhouette studio can I?

Once you've traced and ungrouped it select the piece you want to colour select the fill colour and choose your colour from the pane on the right .....screenshot below

DJG--thanks so much for posting this info. I just encountered the same problem last night and was wondering how to fill an area with color. Your screenprint really helped, too.
