It has a pullout drawer at the front for regular paper and heavyweight card feeds in from the back, yes. It has 5 separate inks, 2 black (dunno why it needs two) and the usual other 3 colours, cyan, yellow and magenta. I didn't try a stack of card in the rear tray, the test prints I did were just one sheet at a time. After seeing your question I tried it with a stack of 20 sheets of 300gsm card in the rear tray, printed a 3 page document on it and it didn't struggle at all. I'm not sure how many it will take but looking at how the 20 sheets are filling the tray I'd say it might take 30 or so at a time.

I got mine this week and have printed approx 90 wedding save the date cards on 250 gsm but have also tested 300gsm and thicker with no problem. Liking it so far!

If you use card/photopaper it feeds from the back. You can put a stack of card in to feed don't have to do one at a time. It takes 5 inks.

It does, but as I've only just got mine I'm still on the official cartridges, not tried others.

Print and scan quality is excellent, just did a couple of test prints on 300gsm card and I couldn't ask for a better result, so made up with it!
I got mine too - it is absolutely fab! wish I'd got it earlier. Now, do I NEED another one?!!

I see Argos have sold out!!!

I'm so tempted but I have three printers at the moment. Two working and one on it's way out because it's smearing black ink on the back of the card which isn't so bad but if I'm printing cards and want to print the insert directly inside it's useless.

Sounds great for printing my charity cards though. What's it like on ink use please?

Canon printers that have 2 blacks use one for printing photos and colour docs and the other, which is usually larger, for printing just black as in text documents.

I am very tempted by this, but I do need a printer that is not only rear feed for card, but is also a really good photo printer - does this one fit the bill?

I use card from the back . I have only fed one sheet at a time ,have not tried multiple sheets. It uses 5 ink cartridges. These can be purchased from Stinkyink .com very reasonable price good reviews. Bought some for £12.00 as spare for when my ones run out. Hope this helps

I've fed 10 sheets through the back feeder no problem. The only thing I don't like is the way it takes ages to start with lots of clunking and whirring - though I understand this is usual for Canon printers.

Having lots of problems with my much loved oldish HP All in One, it just doesn't like the compatible cartridges I've tried to install. HP cartridges are expensive so tried for the first time compatibles. Wondering whether to buy new printer as may turn out cheaper in the long run. The Cannon Pixmas sounds very interesting but wondered has anyone actually tried the compatible cartridges and how much do they cost and of course is there plenty of ink in them?
Sorry for all the question, but if you don't ask you don't find out.

My HP All in one was acting up. I changed the lead ( printer to PC ) and fingers crossed it seems OK
