    Gesso and washi tape?

I've just made some autograph books for DDs as we're visiting Disneyland Paris next week - have put some washi on the cover - I wanted to gesso them to make them a bit more hard wearing and shiny (!) but don't want to ruin the devils now I've almost finished them....should I go ahead?! (have only used gesso once before!)

No, unless you have clear gesso you will cover up all the lovely washi tape. Maybe you could seal them with modpodge or gel medium though if you want to seal them and make them shiny!
