OSNNSSU - August Part 2 - OLD STASH!

Hello everyone - nearly done with those school holidays? Hoping the other half will take the kids out today so you can scrap?
Today is the start of our OLD stash week - you've seen the sketch, but I've attached it for your perusal

My layout is made from VERY old stash. An old kit from my very first Sarah's Cards crop, back in 2008! I won it in the raffle, made a layout at the crop that day, and have just re-cut into it (oops)

I kept the sketch at the same orientation this time, no flipping or turning, as I felt it worked well for what I wanted, and marked the horizontal stripes with my ribbon, ties in simple knots as the bows would have added too much bulk to my album. I tell you, knots are the next big thing - I'm making layouts and cards full of strings of them!

I shifted my photograph a little, and definied the background with an oval, not a square (DS1 was playing Sonic and it reminds me of the level titles!), and then built onto it from there.

The alphabet came from the same kit - I just edged it with black pen to make it stand out (yes, it's a little imprefect, but that's fine The flowers came in the kits too, so I layered them up quite simply. Oh, and I inked everything. Not just because I like grunge, but because the journalling is about how the dye on that glasses case in Dylan's mouth came out over his mouth, hands, and top...!

I hope this inspires you to change up shapes and get your old stash out, and that you can have a masculine layout with a couple of ribbons and flowers (well, we were in the garden...)

I look forward to seeing your interpretations, please do post up, and I might just go digging through my stash to see what pretty unloved thing needs a new home!
    Leanne x

PS. Sorry this is a little late today, I was trying out some techy stuff to see if we'd get a few more views

Love the idea of tied ribbons Leanie! I can't make bows for the life of me - well, I can but I have to re-do them 3 million times and they still don't lay as I want them to!

Shadows in photos means there's sunshine - don't knock it! I am no expert but it must be where we are position ourselves compared with the direction of the sun...
