    Fimo clay

ages ago I bought some of this and then put it away and forgot it! I have nearthed it and it has gone ll hard. Can it be resurrected or shall I chuck it?I thought it would be something new for the grandkids to craft with for a change.

I think there's a product they make called a softener, and you mix it with your crumbly clay and it makes it useable again. If you've got enough clay, it might be worth buying some. That said, I had some for ages, and it went rock hard, but when I warmed it up a bit in my hands and started working with it, eventually it became pliable again. I imagine it depends how dry its become.

I have crumbly clay and I just keep it in my hard to warm / soften it up and then keep kneeding it. There is a product you can buy to soften it as well but I have always manaed to do it with my hands

I never seemed to rescue mine when it went hard - was best to chuck and start again. I think when you bake the old stuff it cracks - might have changed now thou - my fimo stage was years ago !

found an on line Aussie place that sells the softener so ordered some. I think the grandkids, especially the oldest and youngest girls will have fun with it and it is something different for them to do with me.

My grandchildren used to love playing with it. One grandson and one grand daughter used to be very good at making 3D models, the other grand daughter was like me and her Pingu came out as if it had been run over with a train :-)

    Have fun playing MD.
