    May 2013 Simple Recipe Worksheet

    Hi!

Another new Simple Recipe project worksheet is attached and ready to download at the end of this post.

This month I've put together a colour combination based around ice cream colours. Here's a quick run down of this months' recipe but don't forget to download the worksheet for full details and project ideas.

    May colour combination:

    The added ingredients are:

    • Use more than ones style of alphabet on your finished project
    • Add something from your most recent stash purchase to your kit
    • Use grey as an additional/alternative neutral to compliment the muted colour scheme

Have fun with the recipe and don't forget to add your finished project to the Simple Recipes gallery. This month also why not share a quick photo of the kit you put together before you finish your project? It'd be fun to see what you're starting out with and what your finished project ends up like.

Here's my page for this challenge. I started out with a chocolate brown background, then realised I hadn't used grey, tried the grey background and thought it looked far better! All the papers come from my scrap box, (soem very old!) and my newest purchase included the wooden stars. The photos are old too, that's my DD when she was about 4, she's now 21!

That's fantastic Linda, love all the layery bits

When I was playing around with ideas for this month I was putting the ice cream colours with neutral backgrounds but the colours just weren't working but when I pulled out grey they just seem to work better it's a weird thing with pastel kind of tones I guess.

lovely soft colour scheme this month, I have combined this with a few other challenges. My grey is resticted to the swirls on my PP, lots of different styles of lettering for the title and some new PP and matching blooms

Everything is OK Laura, you can add anything you want to your layout it's your project The recipes are there as a guide to help you pick out and put together items in your supplies in a way you might not have otherwise.
I know with myself when I'm putting kits together from my supplies following a recipe I'll think of something I have that would work right away but then as I'm going through stuff I also find bits and pieces I'd forgotten about. I might not use everything I've put together but it's still there to use and give me more ideas afterwards too.

Here's my first attempt at a Simple Recipe - I really enjoyed it

I used the sketch, ice cream colours and just a touch of Kraft as my neutral, which seemed more appropriate than grey as I wanted to hint at sand. Most of what I've used comes from the May SJ Crafts kit; I bought the Adirondack mist yesterday, the photo is from last year and I've had the little star buttons forever! I didn't manage to use more than one style of alpha, though.

    Hope that's all OK.
