Arrow OSNNSU April Challenge: Part 2, OLD Stash!

    Hello all!
I hope you all had fun with our sketch last week- Thanks to Cal for her SU interpretation
This week is my turn with using up OLD stash- so come on you stash-busters, let's see what you're made of!
I've attached the original sketch at the bottom of this post...

So, how did I get from the sketch to my layout?
    • I went through my papers and pulled out some old Tim Holtz sheets (from the valentines stack), a piece of Core-Dinations, some Echo Park winter papers, and some embroidered flowers. Oh, and some grungeboard pieces, tickets that I was given and have stroked forever but never used...!
    • For the Core-Dinations, I rubbed it into the back of an embossing folder with an embossing stylus (as the 12x12 sheet wouldn't go through my BigShot!) and sanded it down from the front, just so it matched the shabby chic-ness of the papers.
    • Looking at the sketch, there was no way I could cut down my photograph into a square, so I adjusted the other blocks to make a patchwork. This meant when I cut the main page I could use up the scraps for the patches (See the one on the top left, for example? I cut that too short and had to patch it together with magic tape. Which led to a reather pleasing little arrangement of layers when I tried to cover it up...)
    • Finally, after sticking down my main layer I felt it was too flat, so I rummaged through to find something big to give lift (not to waste too many foam pads) and came across an old sheet of thick mulberry paper I was never going to use. I folded this into 4, glued it all shut, and popped it behind for a nice bit of lift! Well, nobody said my old stash had to be seen once I'd used it

I don't know why I uploaded the picture of the layout without my photo and title, and I'll update this with the new image later today - doh! I also have a second item, made from the same stash, by a member of my DT... Check back here Wednesday for the update!

Thanks for playing along, and don't forget to post your links and layouts here so we can admire your work. You'll inspire others to give it a go too!

    Wow. Can I buy it?

I adore the colours. I'm sure I remember those flowers being plain, so did you colour them? I have to say I probably wouldn't have thought of doing that (or dared to try it in case I messed up!) but it's so effective.
