I tend to use 220 or 290gsm white card - whatever make I happen to pick up. I've never had any problems although I know there will be some folk that will tell you that you should use 'this card' or 'that card'.

I would advise that you don't try to colour directly onto a cardblank as the colour does show through - it is meant to do that according to a demonstrator from Letraset.

For your actual stamping, use Memento. Promarkers are alcohol based pens so you don't want to use a solvent based ink pad like Stazon as the pen will lift the stamped image because the alcohol in the pen will reconstitute the ink of your stamping.

    Have fun

I use the card from Rymans. It comes in A4 sheets and I cut the size I need. As Toni says, always stamp on card and then colour before layering it onto your finished card, as it does come through to the back of your card.

I'd second Toni's suggestion of using the Memento ink pads for stamping and then colouring with promarkers, they seem to be the best.

I wondered if I could just hijack this a bit. I'd like to try some colouring and I'm not sure which colours to buy for the skin tones because I've notice they have several sets. I've had a 30% off email today so i thought it was the ideal time to order thankyou Liz x

I didn't buy a pack of skin tones, I just use ivory and blush.

I usually use satin as my starting point. so there is obviously no right or wrong colour to use. If I have two people in the image I would probably use different colours - darker for a boy or man and pale for a little girl or baby.

I usually use satin and blush. Ivory is a good one too though.

For my skin colours I use Apricot, otameal and blush, with a tiny spot of baby pink on the cheeks.
I know you are thinking they look a bit dark but don't forget they fade a couple of shades as they dry.

my preferred skin tone colours (for a light skin tone) are Coral, sunkissed pink or peach and then blush to blend and I would definitely recommend memento Ink pads, hope that helps!

As well as the colours others have mentioned, sand dune in the new limited edition collection is lovely for a pale delicate skin tone.
