My Cameo stopped cutting half way through
Afternoon peeps
I was cutting with my Cameo and it just stopped halfway through cutting my shapes - does anyone know why or better still can it be restarted
I am frustrated with it as this is only the 2nd time I have used it

when it stopped cutting did it go back to the start position or did it just stop in the middle of the cutting mat??
-
It just stopped in the middle of cutting and the mat stayed where it was

When I had my Craft Robo it sometimes used to stop mid cut if the file had a lot of nodes and if left it would carry on on it's own.
I haven't had that happen with my Cameo though, touch wood.
The light would still be blinking on my Robo when it stopped mid cut but as I haven't had this problem with my Cameo I can't say if the light would be flashing.

I removed the sheet and put less items on it and it seemed to be cutting ok, but when it went back to the start the blade didn't lift and cut right through everything - gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I need to find out where to register my machine with Graphtec so I can get some support and advice from them - it doesn't seem right that the blade doesn't lift for the return to start path - this has happened twice now

Apparently Graphtec has the serial numbers of all the machines and when they're sold so you don't need to register it. It's quicker to phone them (only open weekdays as far as I know) the number is 01978 666700. They are really helpful.
This is their website if yiu prefer to email them

Thanks I will call them tomorrow - I did find them very helpful when I first got my Robo Lite.
They may have all the serial numbers but they won't know when I bought it will they? I bought it from Create & Craft a couple of weeks ago but only used it for first time last night
Thanks for your help

They supply Create and Craft so I assume they will know when it was sold but you can always ask if you need to register it when you ring them

Hello Avril,
What program are you using?
The machine will stop cutting to avoid it over heating.
The craft robo program sends a drop down box saying that "you need to wait for the machine to cool off. Unplug the chords and re-plug in after about 20 minutes."
Studio does not give me the same warning but if I am cutting an intricate file, it usually stops until it cools off.

Did Graphtec manage to solve your problem Avril?
-
Hi Doreen
I cut some decoupage yesterday and it cut just fine - so I am thinking perhaps I had too many outline images on my 12x12 sheet so I will try them again and see what happens.
Regarding registering the machine with Graphtec they said it doesn't need registering like the old Craft Robo as they already have all the serial numbers.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Petrina
Sorry I didn't reply, I was using Studio and thought it might have been overheating but it didn't start again after about 20 minutes so gave up on it.
