Hi Meggie/Gill - I couldn't find it either - it had completely disappeared from this forum until you just posted. Really weird.

Well, I haven't actually been doing any art journaling myself recently, but I love keeping up with you all on here, so please keep posting everyone!

I'm hoping to get the paints out again soon though. I've got a nice clean workspace now (I tidied everything up to get the house valued on Monday) so I just need to find the creative feeling and I'll be all set to make some pages.

What have you all been up to?

Like Claudia I haven't done much lately - every now and again I fancy a change and I've been sewing and painting for a few weeks. Finding myself itching to get back to my journal now though!!

I would also think that, with the school holidays, people are either away or up to their elbows in "stuff" - our UKS group is like that. Actually I'm up to my elbows in grand-daughters at the moment which is a mixed blessing - absolutely wonderful and pretty grim, all at the same time ....

Yes, school holidays mean I'm looking after my oldest grandson more - at least 2 days a week and more when the childminder was first in hospital and then off sick. However he's quite into art himself so we've been decopatching papier mache animals, drawing, making dinosaurs etc. We've also spent hours in the garden so he can hunt for frogs which was OK until he picked one up and brought it to show me and his Mum and it escaped and was jumping all round the house.

Other than the circle journals I haven't done anything since my holiday but I spent a week near York that was scrapbooking and then went on a retreat in Shropshire that also had quite a creative element. (My grandaughter aged 16 months came with us to York for the first 48 hours which didn't help creativity, though she was very good)

Has anyone painted the Prima mixed media book covers?

I'm airing on the side of grim at the moment with my two being at home! We've also just been on holiday, coupled with some nasty bouts of illness before we went away I've not done anything either. Been working like a loon since we got back though to catch up with everything. Almost there now. Almost. I'm down to one CJ to catch up on and some Mail Art to get done which is long overdue.

Nice to hear what you ladies are up to. Sorry to hear that there's been grimness though! Hope the holiday went well Vicki, to make up for the illness.

I finally got the paints out yesterday. I wanted to try making patterned papers for backgrounds using monoprinting, so I made some A4 sized 'plates' (shapes cut from 'easi-print' styrofoam and stuck on board) and tried printing them, using acrylic paint.

I've only done the first print layer so far (I plan to layer the colours/patterns) and to be honest it's not going very well, but never mind - at least I've finally broken my block and I'm trying something new.

Anyone else planning to get messy-fingered this weekend?

I want them all now as well Gill! Luckily I have already ordered them, and maybe one or two extra for me.... The boo hiss part is a takes a few weeks to get them shipped across, but I ordered them as soon as I could.

Thanks for the email about my order, still waiting patiently for your supply of White Inktense to arrive... Shall I jet overseas and make them pack quicker? x

Quack! I think placing orders with Stampotique is one of my favourite things to do, only pipped by opening the boxes when they get here.

The pencils....There's a story which came to a conclusion yesterday. I need to locate a new supplier, the company I was buying them from is not stocking them anymore.... never sent me my outstanding and never told me about it!! I am seriously miffed with them.

I've looked at that art journaling retreat before. It looks fantastic but I'm afraid it's too expensive for me for a weekend

I'm off to have a look at the retreat. Sounds right up my street - anything messy really!

How do I go about getting involved in AJ'ing on here?

    Have you done any before?
I led a series on Art Journalling in the forum here, lots of PDF prompts and 'classes', tips and information...
And you can buy lots of lovely goodies from sponsors, such as myself here or Vicki here, and there are others on the Shopping List page...
Come on here to chat, show us links to your pages if you want to share, comment on work by others (because it's nice to have a nosey ) ...
Think that's about it if you're inky, messy, painty, arty, you'll fit right in x
