Technique Thursday with Cal: 4 July - Faux Stitching

    Welcome to another Technique Thursday.

This week we will be looking at the really easy technique of Faux Stitching.

This technique will give amazing results for all genres of crafting - creating a mat for a card front, or using as a border on a scrapbook layout.

I have attached a word document with photographs to help you, and below is the link to a You Tube video for the visual learners amongst us.

I do like that grid thingy, but for now I'll have to make do with the holes in my Tim ruler! Do they sell the grid over here, Cal?

Somewhere I have a proper plastic template for stitching but I've just been practising with a piece of plastic grid that I picked up ages ago in the market which was something to do with sewing. It is a simple grid but if you really think about it can be quite versatile for stitching. Will try to post some pics later

I have used some little templates I got with a needle and some threads. There are lots of different shapes. (i'll check what make it is !) I've mislaid my pokey tool so just used a needle to make the holes!
I have only done the straight line faux stitching so far and I think the holes on the template were a little too far apart for my liking.
I will try and upload pics tonight
