I rarely use stamps for my layouts but love the effect so I'll be doing more in the future.
    Thanks for this challenge

My attempt is here - not quite sure I've got this one right so I want to have another go . Enjoyed stamping onto the page and will definately use the small 'mats' idea again.

Loved it and it inspired me to scrap despite being so poorly - you just have to use your imagination to see your original idea LOL

    I need to confess

I didn't like my finished page. Some of my friends did, some did not. I kept looking at it, wanting to change this or that, and then realized this was ok, this was not - and just went into a tizzy.

SO. . . . here's my confession. And I feel so much better after coming to this conclusion: Every part of every layout is not for everyone. What works for Shimelle, or Mary, or Jane, etc. isn't going to work for Sharon all the time. And that's ok! I realized I loved the cutting and putting under the photo mat, but didn't like my bare background nor my photos in the center. I loved the little "rule of 3s" being taken to the edges - but I don't like - never did - stamping on my layouts. Yet I love to see it on other people's layouts.

I would have liked my layout better with patterned paper in the background, my photo off to the side, skipping the stamping, maybe adding a few more cutouts from a smaller printed paper instead of the larger paper I used.

Will I redo my layout? No. I adhere to the rule that once it's done, move on. But I really learned probably more from this layout than ones I gush over, because it told me what was working for me and what to stay away from. Or alter at least, the next time!

I'm right there with you Sherelm! My first page was so not working I did another - which was fine until I did the journalling and then it seemed to lose all its balance. Don't think I'm an empty space girl although I do like the stamping on mine.

At last, here's mine. Thank you Shimelle for the inspiration! I completed this in a fraction of time I usually do a LO these days. Not only that, but it's the first I've uploaded in a long, long time.

My photos were 7x5 so they took up more of the page than the originals do. I therefore left off the embellishments round the edges and had less space for journalling - which I put on a spot rather than straight onto the card, which I prefer.
