    Counterfeit Kit Challenge

This thread has been automatically created, because the original thread had over 250 posts.

The original thread was located HERE.

    The first post was....

Back in January, thanks to Siân (Seffie on UKS), I found the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog ( CKCB ) and have been hooked ever since. Hopefully a few of you will be too!

If you have ever looked longingly at the latest greatest monthly scrapbook kit club, admiring their beautiful kits ... but knew you needed more stash like a hole in the head ... then this could be the challenge is for you!

Rather than giving the credit card yet another outing and paying extra for P&P - shop your stash! Create your own pizza box full of goodies, based on a professional kit, and get creating! There's no need to stalk the postie as it's right there ready to use and what's more the CKCB provide plenty of links to help the counterfeiting of embellishments as well as ideas and challenges helping you to actually use the kits!

Here's how it works each month (new date schedule for 2013):

1st - the CKCB announce the kit to copy - and a blog hop around the Master Forgers (DT) to see how they've been inspired by it

4th - Challenge#1 to get you started using your kit (also the chance to use this project for a blog hop at the end of the month)

8th - Links and tutorials shared on the CKCB to help you get counterfeiting.

12th - Challenge#2 helps you to use more of your kit

16th - Challenge#3 (and the deadline to sign up for the Members' Blog Hop with your project from Challenge #1)

20th - Extra Inspiration to help you finish off your kit ready for next month

24th - Counterfeiters' Blog Hop (featuring projects from Challenge#1)

On top of that there's a monthly link to share your kits, creations and forgery tips with other counterfeiters - and there have been prizes too!! The more you join in, the more chances you have!!
Please feel free to carry on......

I'm pretty sure it would work for any fabric - felt is just easy to work with wrt fraying and manipulating, but I'll bet cotton and organza would be fine with really sharp scissors - not for the front of a mini book or on a hairband, but certainly inside a page protector!

How are you doing with your kit Jane ... do I have to get out the flying pig?

noooooooooo, not the flying pig! The kit I have sorted.....but my printer died on me and I haven't been able to print out any pics - very frustrating when I had planned to have a week of scrapping. However, i did manage to make some cards and when i get chance I'll upload them

Well I sympathise with the printer problem - DD has been printing stuff for her Art development book - and didn't mention that various inks were practically empty! Hope the post from Jersey is quick or I may be forced to pop down to Boots (or scrap the pictures I printed out for the last crop - but they don't fit the challenge I had in mind!)

Kids ay?! Gotta love 'em though I suppose

I did consider getting pics printed but ended up buying a new printer and regretted wasting so much time trying to fix the old one.

BTW, love the sketch that was provided the other day, I've printed it off to use and took some fab pics of my OH, DD and the pup on a nature trail we've been on today so hope to use it for them

Yeah - I like the sketch site they are using too. My DM has just bought a new Kodak printer as the man in Curry's told her the inks are cheap to refill. We could easily have bought a new printer for the ££ weve spent on inks, but it does print good photos ... scared to try a new printer really! We're used to this one!

I did hum and ah about whether to try a Kodak printer this time but the prices were a little scary! Plus I know epson inks are okay for using promarker on images but I didn't know if Kodak was the same so I stuck with what I know.

Been at my Mum's today and seen her printer in action (it was about £50-60 - so not a huge price) - OMG it's noisy though!!!!

No felt and no doilies? Call yourself a scrapper?????
They were also using doily prints (like spirograph patterns) - any PP with that design???

LOL - sorry, epic fail! Used up my one doily print on last week's Twisted Sketch. Not been a big feature for me. No-one could call me trendy clearly! If I ever get through my old stash I might be a bit more on trend!
