    needle felting machine

    has anyone got one of these im thinking of buying one any feedback would be good please as i dont want it sat in the back of the cupboard for years

    you dont need a machine - a felting needle will do the trick (particularly if you are doing 3D stuff). You can get a holder to hold multiple needles - I'll PM you a link

    the 3d stuff is fine with the needles that i have but!! i do a lot of doll making and want to make my own material and am having trouble with that it just wont felt together i want ot use ribbons fiber ect

    I've seen one of these and had a play. I think they are great if you need to do lots of felting. I wouldn't buy one myself, I wouldn't use it very often as it doesn't do anything else. The machines are much quicker than doing it by hand and will take most materials. I recommend you go to a shop and ask for a demo and to try it yourself before you decide

    idealworld have a pod tonight with the simplicty one so will watch the show before i decide.... iwould make all my own material for my dolls, journals ect so i would say yes i would use it a lot....and im really into fiber arts....

    They are a good buy if you know you would make use of it. The only downside with them is the price of the needles really, as they are quite expensive, and you will need to replace them quite often. (Break and become blunt) Ive used the Jamone one and so far so good, not really had any issues with it. They are good fun, and they do matt the fibres much quicker then by hand.

    Have you seen the needle felting accessory that fits onto a sewing machine? I think it could get your sewing machine full of fluff, but theone I've been looking at comes with a big box around it...
