Oh dear I am really struggling with this

I'm really unsure how to begin & end up with so many thoughts of what to put down on the 1st page that it all ends up in a huge car crash in my head!

Is it really as simple as journalling whatever is in my head at the time or should it have a reason?

Aargh! I always seem to over think things

Yes, it's as simple as journalling what's in your head. If there is something that you want to get down on paper then you can do that. You could just write your shopping list down if you wanted to!

If you don't want to add any journalling to your pages yet, either because you don't feel like you have anything to say or you're not sure how you want to go about it, then leave it. Just have fun experimenting with colours and getting some on a few pages. You can come back to them later to add images or journalling.

maybe start writing about why you chose those colours, what you associate with the colours (feelings, memories, etc) - don't over think it, just write. a few of my pages have started off with me "just writing" and ended up in an unexpectedly profound place! (and some haven't, lol, they've just got a random ramble...)

My book is all made and the first page is underway, I have chosen the colour I always gravitate too and asking myself why. Not that I have any anwers yet!
Nicki, I am not a great journaller but love to play with paint, I am hoping to get my journalling mojo working during the Art journey, time will tell.
Mind you I always seem to have more than enough to say once I start typing!

Jhay.. love the way you have had fun and used your cereal boxes.

I don't think it matters what you write. If you are just starting out, then your first pages will probably just be about getting a feel for the process of making a page.

I think Flo's suggestion to just choose a colour and a few words you associate with it is a good one. Then you don't even need to worry about sentences, and you can arrange the words wherever you want on the page.

Oh, I was going to have at go at this, but i'm already behind Still not even started organising my book. I was thinking I would make the ring binder one, as I know I will likely want to stitch on the pages, which is easier if they can be put in and out. Got some serious catching up to do!! I'm always behind!! Why is work always busy when you want to do something fun??

I've just realised that I promised to upload DDs picture she did for Art. Apparantly she photocopied the original photo then coloured in the back of the copy with a pencil before placing it where she wanted and tracing around the outline then colouring in as she fancied. I had a little play and it took me back to my childhood and I definately want to do this in my journal if I can

Jayne, that's brilliant! Your clever DD! And yes, you should definitely try that in your journal. I love tracing techniques - my tracing paper gets used for 101 different things!

    I love it too Frances

I'm still not feeling very well and have already decided that I don't like my binder Haven't been able to do any more work on it so hopefully when I do it will grow on me again.
